SurePulse research presented at JENS conference

Research featuring SurePulse technology will be presented by multiple institutions at the joint European Neonatal Societies (JENS) conference taking place from the 19-23rd of September 2023 in Rome, Italy.

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the UK used SurePulse to wirelessly monitor heart rate in preterm infants. The evaluation assessed the technology in the delivery room, operating theatre and NICU using staff feedback and real-time recorded heart rate data. Results of the research will be presented by NNUH Consultant Neonatologist Paul Clarke who will give an oral presentation entitled ‘Feasibility and acceptability of a novel forehead-mounted wireless heart rate monitoring device in preterm babies’ on the afternoon of Friday 22nd September.

Radboudumc Amalia Children’s Hospital in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, has also evaluated the SurePulse VS device in a clinical trial setting, comparing its’ accuracy with standard ECG monitoring. Consultant Neonatologist Irma Pernot will present an oral presentation entitled ‘Heart rate registration in neonates using a photoplethysmography (PPG)-integrated cap’ on the afternoon of Wednesday 20th September.

The results of both studies will be widely available following publication.  SurePulse will be attending JENS. To find out more about our wireless heart rate monitor for new-born babies, #SurePulse VS and relevant peer-reviewed publications, visit us at booth #45 or contact us to arrange a meeting.
