SurePulse is proud to have been selected as one of the companies taking part in KidsUP Children’s HealthTech Accelerator Programme, an initiative designed to bring cutting-edge healthcare technologies for children and young people into the NHS. The programme represents a unique opportunity to collaborate with experts and drive impactful change in paediatric healthcare. The program started in October and is almost half way through to completion.
About KidsUP and the Vision for Paediatric HealthTech
Led by the Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust in collaboration with accelerator specialists UP Ventures and venture capitalists Par Equity, KidsUP is a critical step toward addressing the disparity in medical research funding allocated to paediatric health, which currently stands at less than 5% of total funding in the UK.
The accelerator’s mission is clear: to develop innovative solutions that revolutionise healthcare for children and young people. As Professor Paul Dimitri of Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust puts it, “Children represent 25% of our population but 100% of our future.” KidsUP aligns with this belief, offering a platform to transform how healthcare is delivered for the next generation.
The Journey Ahead
Out of over 70 applicants, 10 companies, including SurePulse, have been selected to participate in the prestigious 12-week programme. This includes tailored mentoring from clinicians at Sheffield Children’s and specialised training from UP Ventures. Participants will also benefit from valuable insights provided by a Children & Young People’s Panel, ensuring the solutions are designed with and for the end-users.
The programme will culminate in a pitch event facilitated by Par Equity, where participating companies will present their innovations to investors from international venture capital groups. Successful pitches will pave the way for integrating these technologies into the NHS and beyond.
